What is that Option Connector?

Hi Friends,

I have a question for those who own a service manual. (I finally ordered one myself, so thanks for the hint in this forum!)
There is an “option connector” mentioned and shown on pages 1-19 and 1-21 for example. What is it for? It’s located right behind the right front utility box and it looks like a not used power supply for an optional accessory. Does anybody know?

Best regards,
CAPITA

Is it the pages with the 2 nm4's? My manual is from a different language.
There is a option connector (USB) for charging mobile phones.

If not that, there 2 things that are not on the US model, HISS (anti-theft) and the ETC (electronic toll collection) on Japan models only.

Hi Niclord,
thanks, but I'm afraid this is something different. I'm talking about a figure in the Service Manual on the mentioned pages. As far as I know, there is no USB port (5V) on the bike. You can use an adaptor plug on the 12v power socket in the left utility box to charge USB devices.
What I mean is an obvious unused jug named "option connector", that is located inside the body, right behind the right-hand utility box.
I ask myself, what is it planned for and can I use it for additional features.

Best Regards,

CAPITA

Hi again,
today I had a closer look into the front wheel tunnel and I detected the location of this option connector. It looks like a common Honda connector with 10 terminals. Unfortunately you cannot see how many wires really end on this connector, since it is coated twice and the terminals are sealed somehow. In addition the wiring diagram of the service manual does not say anything about it. It’s not mentioned at all. Any ideas?

Regards,
CAPITA

Hi Chris,
yes, this really may be a possibility. It is all prepared, if you have a look at the wiring diagram. So this could definitely be a place to get 12V for additional accessories. I’m gonna find out measuring once the April snow has gone again. But where to get a fitting plug? Does anybody know a part number or a name? I’m sure this part will be used on all actual Honda models.

Thanks and regards,
CAPITA
